COUNT ME IN
Count Me In* is our martial arts program designed for people with special needs. We pride ourselves in being able to improve physical, mental and social aspects of these individuals through orthodox karate training. Self control/discipline is one of the biggest areas we see improvement. We have certified special needs instructors that teach in a positive, fun environment. We offer private instruction as well as inclusion in our novice karate classes. Our special needs students keep coming back every week because they love doing karate!

TESTIMONIALS - COUNT ME IN*

"The Count Me In program offered by Ken Carr's Martial Arts has been a wonderful experience for Robin.
Other than his first love, basketball, I coudn't get Robin excited about any other sports. He started but quickly became
uninterested in baseball. Soccer was the same. I thought martial arts would help him with his balance and coordination,
but worried that he would not stick with the progam.
Interestingly, Robin clicked with the program and has maintained a high level of interest. He is focused and shown a lot more
patience than what I've seen in the past. I can see that his balance has improved a lot in just a month. I know the benefits
beyond what I can see visibly. I think the program help tremendously with discipline and self-confidence.
I can't say enough about Sensei Mike, Sensei Vicki and Sensei Larry. They have been great teachers and strong motivators.
I appreciate their can-do approach. Even when Robin says he can't do it, they push him a little more and more, which is
GREAT! I have been pleasantly suprised on many occasions by what Robin was able to do.
So let me express my heartfelt 'Thank You' for so many things you have done for Robin." --Kathy Kim

"I just wanted to say that the Count Me In program has been a blessing. It gives Austin a chance to participate
in a sport. Austin has congenital heart disease and most sports require some running during warm up. This program has an instructor,
Sensei Vicki, who has worked in a SDC (Special Day Class) setting before and understands the challenges these children may have during
training. Karate is a 'pretty cool' sport, so for Austin, it makes him feel good that he is in a Karate program." --Katy Lee
